NUR 095 Nursing Assistant provides necessary content and skills to be eligible to sit for the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) certified nursing assistant examination.
Oregon CNA certification or successful completion of NUR 095 Nursing Assistant is one of the application requirements needed before applying to the Nursing program at COCC, therefore, registration in NUR 095 has become very competitive and the course is usually filled with current COCC students. To register for the course at COCC you will need to apply for admission to the College and complete the placement tests. See Getting Started for information.

To receive departmental approval for NUR 095: print and read this informational file, sign the Agreement Page and bring it to the Nursing Department Secretary in the Ochoco Annex which is located just above Ochoco Hall. Registered students must initiate a criminal history check no later than the date indicated in the NUR 095 Requirements packet for the term enrolled. Criminal History Check Policy.pdf contains the policy regarding criminal history background checks. Click on the logo below for the website to complete your background check. There are several COCC programs to choose from so be very careful to choose Nursing (CNA) for the program. Wait listed students who gain entry to this course will be expected to complete this background check during the orientation session on the first day of class.
